The Moxa EDS-408A Series features compact and robust 8-port managed Ethernet switches designed for industrial networks where high availability and easy management are essential. These switches offer up to eight 10/100BaseT(X) copper ports and – depending on the model – additional fiber optic ports using SC or ST connectors in either multi-mode or single-mode.

Built-in redundancy protocols such as Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (with recovery times under 20 ms at up to 250 switches), as well as support for RSTP and STP, ensure stable network operation. Key features like IGMP Snooping, IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, port-based VLANs, QoS, and bandwidth management make the switches ideal for deterministic communication in automation environments.

The EDS-408A switches are easy to manage via web browser, CLI, Telnet, serial console, or Windows utility. They are also compatible with the ABC-01 configuration backup module. PROFINET or EtherNet/IP-enabled models come pre-configured for seamless integration with Siemens or Rockwell systems. MXstudio is supported for visual network mapping and diagnostics.

Designed with a rugged IP30-rated metal housing, a wide operating temperature range from -10 to 60 °C (standard) or -40 to 75 °C (T models), and multiple industrial, railway, and marine certifications, these switches are ready for harsh environments.
