The Moxa EDS-408A Series includes industrial-grade 8-port managed Ethernet switches designed for applications in automation, power systems, and infrastructure. These switches ensure high network availability through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain support with recovery times of less than 20 milliseconds at up to 250 switches, as well as through RSTP and STP redundancy.

Depending on the model, the switches feature up to eight 10/100BaseT(X) copper ports or a combination of copper and fiber optic ports (100BaseFX, SC or ST, multi- or single-mode). EIP and PN models come pre-enabled with EtherNet/IP or PROFINET, making them ideal for seamless integration into industrial control systems.

The switches support IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, port-based VLANs, GVRP, IGMP Snooping, and QoS to prioritize critical traffic. Features such as DHCP Option 82, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, port mirroring, bandwidth control, and RMON enhance network visibility and efficiency.

Management is available via web interface, CLI, Telnet, serial console, Windows utility, and the ABC-01 configuration module. MXstudio is also supported for graphical network visualization.

The metal IP30-rated housing is designed for DIN-rail mounting and optionally wall-mounting. The operating temperature ranges from -10 to 60 °C for standard models and -40 to 75 °C for T models.

The switches are certified for industrial environments including UL 508, EN 62368-1, EN 50121-4 (railway), ATEX/IECEx for hazardous locations, and marine approvals from DNV, NK, LR, and ABS. MTBF exceeds 1.3 million hours depending on the model.
