The SAR 4 and SAR 5 can be connected to a telecommunications connection line or a separate control voltage source (AC/DC) and is controlled by the ringing voltage or the control voltage. The SAR reacts either only to the ringing voltage or only to the control voltage and switches on an external signal generator (e.g. bell, horn or lamp) with its own or separate power supply.
