LCS-C842 is a compact and reliable media conversion solution offering network administrators a migration solution for upgrading copper networks to LWL based networks. Regardless how data are transmitted, whether via multi mode, single mode or long haul single mode LWL or as Half or Full Duplex, LCS-C842 is able to serve variable cable configurations. LFS properties (link failure signal) support installation of a redundant or second connection. This might be the ideal solution for critical or streaming applications as e.g. Fiber To The Building (FTTB) or Fiber To The Curb (FTTC). LFS-LED provides instant display whenever a cable defect or other service interruptions occur. Simultaneous data transfer is switched via a redundant link resulting in a Non-Stop connection. Once switched on per dipswitch, the remote or local Loopback test permits administrator to control cable connection status anytime. This function provides a simple but efficient defect control without controlling cables or connections. LCS-C842 offers the advantages of an intelligent connection technology with support by Auto negotiation, doing away with manual adjustments and controls. Device thus provides Plug & Play functionality. LCS-C842 permits installation of LWL cables anywhere within the existing network w/o changing existing copper cabling. A compact, modular developed converter, easy to install in desktop proximity, on the wall or within a multiunit, based on LCS-C819 12 slot standard 48,3 cm ( 19 inch ) rack-mount chassis.Device DIPswitches permit various configurations
