This device connects between a portable power source, such as the KUNZER ASX 12/440 jump starter, and the vehicle’s OBD2 port. The OBD-L power supply automatically detects if a power source is connected and then provides controlled power to securely retain vehicle data, ensuring important settings and information are preserved during battery replacement.

The device is equipped with a 5A standard glass fuse (ASG 5A, 6.3x30 mm) in the power plug for safe operation. The maximum current demand for data preservation should not exceed 2A. It is strongly advised not to use the vehicle's own socket or cigarette lighter for this purpose.
