The Janitza KUW4.2/60-250/1A is a
cable current transformer designed for use in
energy metering applications indoors. It enables precise measurement of alternating currents in insulated cables with a primary current of 250 A and a secondary current of 1 A. The
accuracy class 1 and rated power of 0.5 VA ensure reliable measurement results with low energy consumption. Thanks to its
split-core technology, the transformer can be installed without interrupting the circuit, making installation particularly easy and quick. The maximum cable opening of
2 x Ø 42 mm makes it suitable for a wide range of cable diameters. The transformer complies with the international standard
IEC 61869-2 and is designed for operating temperatures from
-10 °C to +55 °C, with relative humidity between
5 % and 85 %, without condensation. The
protection class IP20 safeguards against contact with moving parts and is suitable for use in enclosed, dry indoor environments. The secondary cable has a length of
5 m, is flexible, and made of
0.5 mm² cable, enabling easy connection to measuring instruments or meters. The insulation material class
E (120 °C) ensures high thermal resistance. The thermal short-time rating is
60 x In/1s, and the thermal continuous current is
100 %, allowing high load capacity under transient conditions. The rated insulation level of
0.72/3/- kV and the rated frequency of
50/60 Hz make the transformer suitable for standard grid voltages.
