Simple connection between USB and RS485: The Converter connects computers with a USB-A port to RS485 devices via a virtual COM port. Ideal for Modbus RTU applications as well as control, measurement and automation systems.
Quick to set up: Automatic direction switching in half-duplex mode is handled entirely by the hardware. No additional settings via RTS/CTS signals or software are required, simplifying commissioning.
Reliable data transmission: The FTDI FT232RNL chipset supports baud rates from 300 to 512,000 b/s. The integrated 120 Ω terminating resistor reduces signal reflections and ensures stable communication over longer RS485 cables.
Widely compatible: Supports Windows XP through to Windows 11, Linux, macOS and Android. The screw terminal ensures secure wiring, and the two GND terminals can be used for ground connections or cable shielding.
The InLine USB to Serial RS485 Converter with isolator enables connection between a computer with a USB-A interface and devices or networks with an RS485 interface.
