The SCALA readers are read/write units that can be used in combination with the SCALA access control system. They are used for contactless identification in SCALA. The readers can be used both indoors and outdoors.|The clear signaling makes operation extremely simple. The display is both optical via LEDs and acoustic. This allows the user to immediately see whether access is granted or whether new user rights are being written to the ID card. The data from the transponder is converted 1:1 from analogue to digital and sent to the SCALA controller. The security of the encryption is identical to the security of the air interface between the user ID and the reader.|All security-relevant processes do not take place in the reader, but are controlled in the controller. This means that manipulation between the identification medium, reader and controller is impossible according to the current state of the art - such as eavesdropping on the encryption or replacing the reader with a compromised unit. The SCALA readers have integrated temperature and voltage sensors as standard, which constantly measure the temperature and input voltage of the readers. This allows faults to be prevented in advance.|The adjustable operating states are displayed via a yellow, a two-color (red/green) and an RGB LED. The transmission quality between the user ID and the reader is displayed via the RS485 bus using a communication LED. Communication between the SCALA reader and the controller takes place via an RS485 interface. Both the communication and the power supply take place via the 4-wire cable. The wiring of the reader is intuitive and particularly simple.
