The DIGITUS HDMI eARC Converter/Splitter offers 2 operating modes: Mode 1 -> eARC Audio Extractor - Connect an HDMI2.1 device (e.g. XBox Series X, PS5) to a UHD TV while still using your old AVR ( Audio Video Receiver). Uncompressed 5.1/7.1 surround sound as well as ATMOS and DTS can be extracted from your TV's eARC or ARC port to any standard HDMI input (NOT eARC port) on your older AVR or soundbar. Streaming devices/sticks, satellite TV, streaming apps on your Smart TV benefit from the best possible audio content. Mode 2 -> Audio Splitter - With the local HDMI input and turning off eARC extraction on the switcher, it is possible to split the audio stream from any HDMI multi-channel audio source and send the video to any HDMI 2.0 TV. The audio output offers a 720p black image to be compatible with any older AVR with HDMI 1.3 and above.
