D-Link offers a range of Fast Ethernet converters that can be used to adapt different cabling within a network to create a homogeneous unit.If networks with different topologies are linked together using a converter, they can communicate with each other, exchange data and share expensive peripheral devices. The respective converter can be selected depending on the circumstances. This is a particularly cost-effective way of continuing to use previously used devices such as switches. Expensive new purchases can be avoided and the network can remain in its basic structure.D-Link also offers a wide range of products with regard to the length of the fiber optic cable. Fiber optic lines are highly suitable for such internal LAN connections, as they combine interference-free transport with a high level of security against eavesdropping.
