3G-SDI/HD-SDI to HDMI Converter

A low-cost way to use a standard HDMI screen instead of a pricey SDI display for SDI monitoring.

This converter transforms serial digital interface (SDI) video for output to an HDMI® display, supporting 3G-SDI (3 Gbps), HD-SDI, and SD-SDI input through a coax BNC connector. It includes SDI loop-out for connecting to a local SDI monitor or for daisy-chaining. The re-clocking feature stabilizes SDI data to ensure low-jitter video output, while the unit’s wall-mountable design saves space, and setup requires no software or driver installation.

Applications:

Ideal for professional video and broadcast applications, this converter allows a 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, or SD-SDI source to be displayed on an HDMI monitor, providing a cost-effective alternative to SDI displays for SDI monitoring. Suitable for TV studios, post-production, digital cinema, and AV applications.

SDI Loopback:

This converter features SDI loop-out via a second coax connector, allowing a 3G-SDI signal to be displayed on an HDMI monitor and outputted to a second SDI device for local monitoring or daisy-chaining to additional SDI equipment.

Audio:

The 3G-SDI/HD-SDI to HDMI Converter supports up to eight audio channels, including 7.1 and 5.1-channel audio, along with HDMI video. If the SDI source device outputs multiple surround sound channels or Dolby® TrueHD audio, the converter provides equivalent audio channel output on the HDMI connector.

Bit Rates:

The device processes bit rates from 270 Mbps up to 2.97 Gbps, compatible with both older and newer SDI standards.

Distance:

Cable equalization helps compensate for signal loss when connecting the converter to an SDI source at maximum standard distances.* Supported distances are 300 feet (90 m) for 3G-SDI, 500 feet (150 m) for HD-SDI, and 1000 feet (300 m) for SD-SDI.
