The DVI-D EDID Emulator learns the EDID data from a display and ensures your video source uses optimal resolution settings. Its ghost function saves the EDID of displays, enabling the source to boot with the correct settings. Supporting resolutions up to 2560 x 1600, it allows users to display either the default or copied EDID for connected displays. The EDID learning functionality prevents computers from deactivating ports when no display is detected. An integrated rotary switch allows you to manually select and compare video resolutions, and it can record and store up to 15 different EDID data sets.

Often, a source device's graphics card cannot detect the highest resolution supported by a connected display, especially if there is an intermediary device, like a KVM switch, between the source and display. In these cases, the output may default to a lower resolution than the display supports, which can often only be corrected through complex manual configuration.

This is where the value of an EDID-supporting device comes in. EDID ensures optimal source-to-screen performance by aligning the video card output with the display's capabilities. The EDID Ghost supports copying, emulating, cloning, and “learning” EDID data from a display.
