The EtherLink II series by BLACK BOX provides a powerful and scalable solution for building Metro Ethernet networks. Designed to work within the 802.3ah standard, these DSL modems and extenders ensure high bandwidth, compatibility, and manageability. Data can be transmitted up to 5.7 Mbps over distances up to 3.5 km, with automatic fallback to G.SHDSL mode for longer distances, still allowing for a maximum bandwidth of 2.3 Mbps.

Additionally, the extenders offer the flexibility of a Layer-2 switch with VLAN support and Spanning Tree, making it ideal for complex network topologies like ring configurations. This series is perfect for robust network environments requiring high availability and reliability. Even if individual lines fail, connectivity remains stable when using a 4- or 8-wire modem/extender.

All models in the EtherLink II series are designed for paired operation and feature comprehensive surge and lightning protection.
