Use your Ethernet network to reliably access one remote RS-232 or RS-422/485 industrial device from a remote workstation.
The 10/100 Device Server provides a cost-effective gateway for TCP/IP Ethernet and serial signal communications, allowing nearly any serial device to be connected to a new or existing Ethernet network. It encapsulates serial data and transports it over Ethernet, enabling full-duplex, bidirectional communication between the serial port and the network.
Easy to configure, it can be set up remotely via Telnet, Web browser, serial console, or a Windows utility.
With included virtual communication software, you can use an existing Windows-based application to access a serial device by mapping the virtual COM port to a remote serial server over Ethernet.
The device server supports TCP server, TCP client, UDP, and serial tunneling, allowing data transmission between two serial devices via TCP/IP instead of RS-232, -485, or -422. (NOTE: Multiple units needed for TCP client and tunneling modes.)
Ideal for manufacturing, process engineering, or automation applications, for barcode scanners, PLCs, Kanban devices, and other factory floor equipment.
