The modular DKM KVM extenders offer the widest range of combinations for video and peripheral signals, allowing you to find the right KVM extender for even the most specific applications.

The modular DKM KVM extenders consist of chassis with 2, 4, 6, or 21 slots, base modules for video and two USB HID interfaces, and upgrade modules for peripheral connections. Special converter modules offer analog to digital conversion, enabling the use of various analog video sources with the system. For space-saving installations, an 8-port switching module is also available, offering the same functionality as the DKM FXC switches.

Converter Modules:

These converter modules allow you to send analog video signals through your DKM extender and/or switching system. The converters capture the analog signals at the input, convert them into digital DVI signals, and transmit them losslessly over the link. They use the cable connection provided by the base modules, so no additional link cable is required. Choose between different conversions:
ACX1MT-VGA: Converts VGA video into DVI-D signals without scaling, up to 1920 x 1200.
ACX1MT-RGB: Features five BNC connectors and one DVI-I connector to convert analog VGA or RGB video into digital DVI.
ACX1MT-EGA: Supports the conversion of VGA, S-Video, Component (YPbPr), and Composite video, including legacy EGA and CGA signals.
ACX1MT-SDI: Accepts SDI video (HD-SDI up to 720p), VGA, S-Video, Component (YPbPr), and Composite video.

DKM Modular Extenders Overview:

Chassis are available in desktop versions with two, four, or six slots and in a 19” version with 21 slots. For critical applications, use the versions with two power supplies for redundant operation. Choose between internal or external power supplies, AC power, or DC power (12V, 24V, or 48VDC) for industrial applications. Desktop chassis can also be mounted to a wall, under a desk, on a DIN rail, or in a 19” IT cabinet using optional mounting kits. Configure one chassis with a transmitter card for computer connection and another chassis with receiver cards for the console.

Base modules provide the cable connection to the other side. Each chassis must be equipped with at least one base module, which offers either one or two video channels and two USB HID ports.

Upgrade modules provide additional peripheral interfaces and do not require their own cable connection to the other side, saving space and costs.

The DKM converter modules enable the connection of analog video sources with formats such as component and composite or industrial formats like EGA, CGA, or MDA. For graphics applications, additional options like SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI are available. The converter modules convert analog signals into digital DVI-D signals and transmit them losslessly over long distances.

The DKM FXC switching modules offer significant space savings. They require two slots in the chassis but provide 8 ports with full DKM FXC matrix switch functionality. When used in the transmitter chassis, these modules eliminate the need for a separate KVM switch and provide instant access to eight computers. Choose between versions with eight CATx or eight fiber connections.

The modular DKM extenders can be used for point-to-point extensions when the computer is placed away from the user console. They offer the greatest interface variety and highest video quality, making them perfect for graphics professionals and users of specialized peripherals. In larger switched expansions, the modular DKM extenders work seamlessly with KVM matrix switches from the DKM FX and DKM FXC series. Together with DKM switches, they form a flexible and scalable switching system that integrates all resources in the company.
