Description:

The BLACK BOX VGA Extenders enable you to transmit VGA or VGA and audio signals up to 152.4 m over standard twisted-pair cable (CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6). These extenders are perfect for use in video distribution or digital signage applications in schools, hospitals, retail stores, airports, bus stations, and more.

The extenders support both local and remote VGA monitors. Each kit consists of a local unit and a remote unit, as well as a VGA cable to connect the local unit to your VGA source.

The local unit duplicates the input signal for local use and transmits the VGA signal to the remote unit. The remote unit receives the signal via an RJ-45 connector and broadcasts it to two VGA outputs. The extenders support resolutions up to 1024 x 768, and noise suppression circuits provide excellent VGA quality over CAT5, 5e, or 6 cables.

For applications requiring audio, the VGA Extender with Audio (AC556A) is available. The audio input/output jacks can connect speakers for a full multimedia experience. The AC556A takes stereo audio input, mixes it into mono, and transmits it over CAT5, 5e, or 6 cable to the remote unit.

After installation, you can monitor the operation of the VGA Extender via LEDs. Active LEDs light up on the local unit when a VGA signal is detected and on the remote unit when VGA signals are properly decoded.
