This slider can create different connections between plugged bricks. The potentiometer is a manually adjustable resistor. Here a third contact (gripper) moves along the length of the resistor and thus changes the level of the electrical resistance value at its connection. It can be adjusted in the range 0 to 10k. If the wiper or one of the other contacts is connected directly to the power supply, a short circuit will occur. This must be avoided at all costs! The potentiometer has a maximum power of approx. 1/8 W.
