For remote tripping (switching off) of the circuit breaker. The shunt release has a relay coil with an integrated contact that separates the coil from the actuating voltage after the circuit breaker has been tripped. Therefore, no further current flows even when the actuating voltage is continuously applied. Approved for combination with UL489 devices.
