IDC 534 connects wires in a double-strand configuration without the wires having to be stripped before use.
The connector is suitable for connecting single or multi-stranded conductors in installation wiring technology. With a cross-sectional range of 0.5 to 1.5 square millimeters, it enables a through connection even on uncut conductors. The black connector can withstand a maximum voltage of 30 volts and a limit temperature of 105 °C. It can be used in the control, measurement and regulation area as well as in automotive electronics and switchgear construction. Its functionality is based on the principle of a U-element: the conductors to be connected are fed into the connector without having to be stripped beforehand. By applying light pressure with the pliers, the U-elements remove the wire insulation, increase the contact area and establish contact with the conductor. The U-element, which is under spring tension, encloses the individual wires and ensures a mechanically strong, shock-proof, electrically perfect and permanent connection. The connector has been tested in the high-voltage test field of 3M Deutschland GmbH in accordance with VDE 0606, 0607, 0303, 0470 and IEC23F and has met all requirements. The connectors are all UL and CSA listed.
