Halogen-free, self-extinguishing, hydrophobic and resistant to chemicals - the two-component casting resin defies even the toughest conditions.
ScotchcastT casting resin No. 1402FR is a two-component cable resin made of polyurethane, which is characterized above all by its flame retardancy according to UL94V0 and very good chemical resistance. It adheres well to both metal and various plastics and is ideal for insulating and protecting low and medium voltage cables up to 3.6/6 kilovolts in mining and industry. In addition, thanks to its Atex certification, you can also use it in explosive areas. The halogen-free resin hardens completely at room temperature and, thanks to its hydrophobic properties, also in water. It only generates a low exothermic reaction temperature. At the same time, it has excellent hydrolytic stability, which means it is also suitable for long-term applications in water. The practical two-chamber bag contains coordinated amounts of resin and hardener, which can be combined to form a homogeneous mass by simply tearing open the separating seam and then kneading. The transparency of the bag allows visual inspection during mixing. The GMG system (closed mixing and pouring) means that contact with casting resin during processing can be practically eliminated. After pouring, the mixing bag with the remaining hardened casting resin can simply be disposed of in normal household waste. Disposal as hazardous waste is not necessary.
